Privacy

This site collects as little as it can.

The mailing list

If you subscribe, your email address is stored so that new writing can be sent to you. It is used for nothing else, it is never sold or shared, and every email carries a link to unsubscribe.

We ask you to confirm first: after you put your address in, you are sent one email with a link, and you are not added until you open it. Nobody can put you on the list but you.

The list itself is held by Mailchimp, which is the service that sends the emails, and your address is stored there rather than on this website. When you unsubscribe it is Mailchimp that stops the emails, at once and without our having to do anything.

The contact form

Your name, email address, and message are stored so that George can read and reply to them. They are not used for any other purpose, and sending a message does not add you to the mailing list.
